Locomotive 1041.002, which was damaged in a collision in the summer of 1987, was repaired in the main workshop in Linz. On the occasion of this repair, the locomotive received a new gearbox with bevel gears and additional engines, which enabled a maximum speed of 110 km/h. As a result, the machine was entered in the register under the new company number 1041 202 from January 1990. The locomotive, located on the Attnang-Puchheim train line, was mainly used on the Salzkammergut railway.
