Prototypes of the class T 478.3 motor locomotive were built in 1968. Subsequently, a total of 408 pieces of this remarkable locomotive were assembled. From 1988, with the introduction of the EDP numbering system, the machines were designated by the 753 series. They not only pulled passenger and freight trains, but also provided train maintenance and construction services.
