The 751 series is a diesel-electric general purpose locomotive. Between 1966 and 1971, series 230 locomotives were produced for ČSD at the ČKD plant in Prague. The locomotive reaches a maximum speed of 100 km/h. The six-cylinder turbocharged engine delivers 1,500 horsepower.
Its scope ranged from international express trains to passenger trains and from heavy freight to "collectors" (shunting freight trains). They could also be found in the border stations of neighboring states. The protruding porches below the front windows quickly earned her the nickname "Bardot", loosely after Brigitte Bardot, the French actress.
