The T 478 series is a diesel-electric universal locomotive of the ČSD. The locomotives owe their striking appearance to their nickname "Bardot" from Brigitte Anne-Marie Bardot, a former French model, film actress, singer and erotic icon of the 1970s. Between 1966 and 1971, 230 locomotives of this series were produced for ČSD at the ČKD factory in Prague.
