Years ago, track supervisors were responsible for shorter stretches of line than now, and the staff accordingly often consisted of the supervisor and a clerk. Larger stations often had buildings such as this, which housed in addition to office space at least one apartment for the supervisor on the upper floor. Our kit is based on a prototype built around 1900 and contains a shed and a bicycle stand.

The prototype of this model is located on Highway 101 between Freiberg and Siebenlehn in Saxony. The idyllic scene takes up little room on a layout or diorama. Old photographs and explanations provided by the owner make for absolute accuracy, down to the original carpenters mistake on the timbering of the gabled roof. The main building contained the animals stalls, kitchen, living rooms and bedrooms. The brick extension at the back was formerly the bakery, and the little wooden house still serves as an outhouse.
